One of the less fun parts of having a baby is changing their dirty nappies – because let’s face it, no one enjoys wiping up poo.
So if there’s a way to make the whole experience a bit easier, most mums and dads would jump at it.
One dad has come up with a way to take the hassle out of cleaning up after the kids by creating the “ultimate diaper changing station”.
And he did it for under £162 ($200).
American father-of-four, David Pike, headed out to his local branch of Home Depot to buy “baby furniture”.
However what he came home with, wasn’t your average changing table, but instead a tool cart.
The dad also added lights, so he and his wife could see to do nighttime changes and plans to reconvert the whole thing back to a toolbox when the little ones are older.
Writing on MotorCity Mechanic, he said: “Wife finally gave in and let me go to @homedepot to go buy ‘baby furniture’ (Husky Tool Cart).
“Feast your eyes on the Ultimate Diaper Changing Station for under $200. I added foam pipe insulation to the edges for protection/safety and some metal baskets underneath for the essentials.
“Throw in a @harborfreighttools LED light for those late night changes and a side shelf for easy reaching of those much needed wipes and you have yourself the most practical and functional changing station on the planet!”
He added: “Plus when all is done it makes its way to the garage for repurposing.”
David also shared several snaps of the finished changing station.
His post quickly went viral, garnering over 28,000 comments and more than 50,000 likes.
One person said: “That’s awesome, you should patent it.”
Another replied: “This is absolutely amazing! Great job and great imagination!”
A third added: “Ingenuity at best!!”
