A Crowthorne school is the best state-funded primary in Bracknell Forest according to a comprehensive new guide.

Crowthorne Church of England Primary School was named the best in the borough by the Real Schools Guide 2020.

The guide compiled by Berkshire Live parent company, Reach’s data unit, takes into account 45 different data points – including not just KS2 results but factors like progress, pupil-teacher ratios and absence rates.

Crowthorne CofE Primary was given an overall score of 69.40 and was ranked 485th nationally, out of 14,879 schools.

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School was named second best in the area overseen by Bracknell Forest Council.

The school in Gipsy Lane received an overall score of 62.61.

While Winkfield St Mary’s CofE Primary School came in third with a score of 60.98.

The guide aims to give a far more comprehensive picture than traditional league tables.

Berkshire’s best primary schools

According to the Real Schools Guide Berkshire’s best primary school was Whiteknights Primary School in Wokingham borough.

The school sits in 44th place out of 14,879 schools nationally.

Two Slough schools were named second and third place in the county, Khalsa Primary School and Nursery and Willow Primary School.
