Six pubs in and near Berkshire have been recognised as some of the best in the UK.

The Good Pub Guide is released every year to celebrate the best pubs in the country.

The guide’s awards are greatly coveted by landlords and staff.

And in our area, two Berkshire pubs have been recognised as some of the very best.

The Royal Oak in Yattendon, near Thatcham, has been named Berkshire’s best pub to dine in.

While, the couple behind the Fox in Peasemore, West Berkshire, have been recognised for being exemplary landlords.

Mr and Mrs Davison have been named in the Top 10 Licensees of the Year in the whole country.

And for those who can’t resist a good pub, we’ve had a look at some of the country’s top pubs within an hour’s drive of Reading, Berkshire, that have made this year’s guide.

A Baughurst pub features in two of categories, a pub in the Slough postal area is one of the best country pubs, and a pub in Winchester city centre has been listed as one of the best town pubs.

Find out what the judges over at the Good Pub Guide thought about them below.
