Plans have emerged for the popular town centre pub
A popular Reading pub is set for a new look, and a new name.
Pavlov’s Dog in St Mary’s Butts could become “The Boundary”, if plans submitted to Reading Borough Council from Stonegate Pub Company are approved.
The pub giant, which recently had problems in Reading due to violence at its Yates’ branch in Friar Street, proposes major changes to the pub.
As well as the name change, the fascia and hanging signs on the pub’s fronts in St Mary’s Butts and Hosier Street are set to change.
A “retractable awning” is proposed for the courtyard at the back, as well two “beach huts” where customers can sit and eat.
Should Pavlov’s Dog change its name?
Yes, it’s had its dayNo, it’s a Reading institutionI don’t care what it’s called
New decking is also planned for the courtyard.
The designs show the pub’s current blue and white style would be replaced by a black and white scheme.
The boozer was given a refurbishment in early 2015 , but it seems the owners are now looking in a different direction over its future.
The plans for the pub in Reading , Berkshire, are on the council’s website.
