A bird-brained, Birmingham-based goose got itself into a flap after crash-landing through a taxi windscreen – and landing on the back seat.
The brazen bird collided head-first with the Hackney cab in a freak accident on Monday (30/9) lunchtime.
Nottinghamshire Police swooped on the scene after reports of a traffic collision in Radford and discovered the shell-shocked gander perched the back seat.
Tweeting pictures of the wayward bird, Radford Road Police posted: “When a colleague asked if a call had been received about a goose flying into a taxi over the radio, we had to see it to believe it.
“The goose was taken to the vets and unfortunately the taxi driver had to repair the damage.
“We think he may be trying to find his way to the Goose Fair.”
The bird was taken to the vets for treatment leaving the shocked taxi drier to foot the bill for the damage to his windscreen.
