Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have revealed details of a brand new car show they’re fronting for the BBC and it sounds pretty epic.
The Britain’s Got Talent presenters have managed to turn their passion for vehicle modifiers into a programme titled On Street Car Showdown, which will see two teams go head-to-head to convert second-hand motors into high powered racing machines.
Yep, it’s like Pimp My Ride and Top Gear had a baby.
‘We have been fascinated with this world since we were teenagers in the North East and experienced car modders meeting up on Roker seafront in Sunderland to show off their creations,’ Ant and Dec said regarding the show’s commission.
‘We came up with the format to shine a light onto the untapped world of car fanatics and highlight their passion, talent and creativity.’ They continued:
‘We are great admirers of the team at Studio Lambert and are thrilled to be partnering with them on this project.’
On Street Car Showdown contestants will have just 10 days and a tight budget before they compete to become champions.
Ant and Dec are creative consultants on the series and a non-broadcast pilot currently in production.
Studio Lambert chief executive Stephen Lambert, added: ‘We were delighted when Mitre asked us to work with them on developing Ant and Dec’s fun, adrenalin-filled idea and producing it with them.’
This isn’t the only new show Ant and Dec have under their belt.
Last month, it was confirmed that the Geordie lads will be joining Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty in a new series of Friday Night Feast.
Announcing the news on Twitter, they wrote: ‘Cracking day filming yesterday with @jamieoliver and @jimmysfarm in Southend. A proper good laugh and GREAT food. It’ll be on your telly box next year. Thanks for having us fellas! D #FridayNightFeast.’
