Opti-Mum: Mum leaves the internet in stitches after using a feature on her Kmart ironing board to hold her wine glass

An Australian mother has turned tedious ironing into an enjoyable household chore.

The mother-of-three shared a picture on social media showing how she uses the clothing rack that’s attached on the side of her Kmart ironing board as a place to hold her glass of wine.

‘After a long day and a mountain of washing to do, only Kmart understands my needs,’ the woman said in a Facebook group.

The funny but clever idea resonated well with other mums from the online community and was described as ‘genius’ and ‘brilliant’.

‘I might need to start doing this chore more often,’ one mum said, another added: ‘So that’s what that is for’.

‘Another reason to iron! What a fabulous idea,’ a third said.

‘I’ve been doing it wrong all of these years! Amazed!’ another commented.

The trick also encouraged other mums to iron more often, despite being a dull household chore.

Other mums added further creative comments, with one saying the whole item could become a grazing board.

‘Better yet, scrap the ironing and turn the whole board into a grazing platter!’ the woman said.

The post has since received more than 1,500 likes and numerous positive comments from mums around the country.

The useful household product from Kmart is retailing for only $19 and has a four point five star rating online.
