After meeting on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004, the pair tied the knot in 2005 and went on to have children Junior, now 14, and Princess, now 12.
The former couple starred in a string of reality shows together when they were married, and the kids – as well as Katie’s eldest son Harvey, 17 – featured heavily.
But years after their split, they began to argue over their kids being in the spotlight.
In April last year, Katie publicly branded Peter a “bellend” after he banned her from including Junior and Princess in her kids’ fashion show.
Katie launched two clothing lines – a girls’ range dubbed Princess & Bunny and a boys’ range named Junior & Jett – also named after the kids she shares with ex Kieran Hayler.
When she launched her new business with a fashion show in London, Katie had been hoping that her children would walk the catwalk alongside a number of hand-picked kids.
But sadly, she couldn’t have it her way as the scenes were being filmed for her reality show My Crazy Life, which Peter had explicitly banned his children from appearing on.
Katie claimed the absences of her children from the stage were down to her exes, saying: “I’m excited but I’m also disappointed. Why? Because Jett and Bunny aren’t here. Kieran won’t bring them.”
She continued: “Junior is skiing and I’ve got Princess here but Pete won’t let me film with her because he’s a bellend.”
Katie added that although eldest son Harvey was with her he wasn’t suitable to model the clothes.
“I’ve got Harvey here too but unfortunately he’s too big for the clothes so I’ll have to make an adult range for him.”
Before that in March 2019, Katie lashed out at Peter during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.
She branded him “selfish” after he refused to allow their children to be filmed for her reality show.
Host Piers Morgan put Katie through a grilling, branding her life “one of perpetual chaos” and asking her: “Is there one time when you think, ‘I should grow up?'”
Piers then tried to ask Katie about her split from third husband Kieran and if she wanted to get back with him when she launched into a rant about Peter.
“I’ll tell you about husband number one,” she raged. “So I’m doing my reality show at the moment and I’m actually really cheesed off with Pete, I’m not asking you to comment because you can’t be biased.
“So people are going to be watching my show wondering ‘Where is Junior and Princess?’ He won’t allow me to film with them, he won’t allow me to do photo shoots with them and he’s been such a hypocrite.
“But unfortunately at this stage you need both parents’ permission, so I just want to put it out there that he’s incredibly selfish and the kids miss out on it.
“I don’t know why he’s doing it.”
Days after that, Katie hit back by banning Peter from posting pictures of their kids on social media.
And Peter had his turn to tell his side of the story on GMB.
But he was seemingly left furious when Piers questioned him about his personal life.
During his interview, Peter was reminded by Piers that his ex had been on the show talking about him.
Wanting to appear oblivious, Peter said: “Did she?”
A clip was then played to show Katie slamming him for not allowing their children to be on her show.
Peter then raged: “Piers you should know that I wouldn’t talk about these things publicly. Piers, you know me.”
Piers’ co-host Susanna Reid tried to calm down the tense situation by saying that they wanted to come to him for comment.
Peter reluctantly added: “It’s a legal issue so it should never be talked about.”
The Mysterious Girl singer later responded to the claims he’d been angry with Piers during the live TV interview.
Speaking in his new! magazine column, he said: “I was accused of looking ‘visibly irked’ when questioned by Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain… What?
“I don’t think I could ever be angry with them.
“Piers is actually a friend and one of the things I love about him is that he’s not afraid to ask questions.”
Katie later defused the whole situation by publicly apologising to her ex.
In May 2019, she issued a grovelling apology on Twitter, even tagging him in the post to make sure he saw it.
She wrote: “I had a tough year last year! A person stirred trouble with me and Pete which he reacted to protect our children!
“Yes I said things but I was upset and didn’t mean harm! Me and Pete love each other really lol !I’m sorry @MrPeterAndre if I hurt you!”
The exes appear to have buried the hatchet now.
Junior and Princess are currently living with Peter, his wife Emily and their kids Amelia and Theo during the coronavirus lockdown.
Katie has moved into a rented mansion just 10 minutes down the road so she can be near her kids while following government guidelines.
She’s living with son Harvey and hunky personal trainer Al Warrell.
Sources close to Katie say she’s thankful that Peter is looking after the kids and a representative for Katie told Mirror Online why she had made the move.
They said that while Katie is geographically closer to her kids, she won’t be seeing them properly until the lockdown has lifted.
They added: “For Katie however it is a comfort to be closer to them in this current climate of the unknown.
“Both Peter and Katie are focused on positive parenting for the best outcome in their joint parenting.
“This is not a permanent residence – at present, a stop gap until further notice and on her bankruptcy being concluded.”
The children have featured heavily on Peter’s social media after he and Katie buried the hatchet.
Katie recently left a commented telling the family to “stay safe” after Peter shared a picture on Instagram.
And now it looks like Princess could be set for fame just like her parents after Peter shared a video showing off her beautiful singing voice.
Sharing the video online, he wrote: “Nice tone bist. Ok this surprised me. Was just getting ready to do the lead vocal on all my harmonies and in walks a Princess.
“Probs post the proper thing tomorrow. She’s asked me to tell you that Her tik tok is princessandre22”
Katie commented with a string of love hearts.
