Cody Simpson has announced he will release a song inspired by his new girlfriend Miley Cyrus.
The 22-year-old singer revealed that Miley is ‘forcing him’ to release the track he wrote for her last week while she was recovering in hospital with tonsillitis.
‘I wrote her a song that she’s pretty much forcing me to put out,’ he told People on Sunday.
‘She was like, “If you don’t put this s**t out, I’m putting it out on your behalf for you. I’m getting your Spotify login and doing this s**t myself,”‘ he added.
Cody, who is releasing his new music next week, decided to write a song about Miley to cheer her up after she underwent tonsillitis surgery. Cody Simpson sings and performs song for new beau Miley Cyrus.
The Can’t Be Tamed star, 26, shared a short video to Instagram last week of Cody singing the track while playing an acoustic guitar.
‘This sweet guy came to visit at the hospital and sang the sweetest song he wrote just for me,’ she told her followers at the time.
The lyrics allude to a mystery woman, presumably Miley, having ‘a golden thing’.
On Friday, Cody revealed that he was ‘very, very happy’ with his pop star girlfriend.
‘She’s very passionate about what she does, and I’m very similar in that sense. That’s why we get along so well,’ he said.
Cody and Miley began dating after her split with reality star Kaitlynn Carter, who is the ex-partner of Brody Jenner.
Before her fling with Kaitlynn, Miley was in a long-term relationship Liam Hemsworth, whom she married in December 2018.
