Clarkson ‘Doesn’t Need Hammond!’

The Grand Tour Promo

Jeremy Clarkson, 59, was adamant he didn’t need any assistance in spite of admitting to struggling with tending to his farm. The Grand Tour presenter informed fans about his progress on Twitter after announcing a new solo TV project based on agriculture. Jeremy, who has his own farm, wrote in view of his 7.2 million followers: “F**k me, farming is hard work. I’m too tired to go to the pub.” In an attempt to help the TV personality cope with the workload, a fan suggested he should “hire” his co-host from Top Gear and The Grand Tour Richard Hammond, 49.

They wrote in response: “For the love of God, get a tractor and hire Hammond.”

Jeremy seemed disinterested in the advice, as he insisted he already has a good tractor and “doesn’t need” Richard.

He wrote back: “I’ve got one. 270hp. Don’t need Hammond.”

The star revealed details about his upcoming show back in May and recently denied it would be entitled I Bought A Farm.

Jeremy tweeted: “Contrary to what you think, the Amazon series I’m making is not called, ‘I bought A farm’. Because that makes no sense.”

While opening up about new venture, Jeremy said the show will not be like the BBC’s hit programme Countryfile.

Jeremy Clarkson admitted he was struggling with farming on Twitter

He told The Sunday Times: “This is not Kate Humble – much as I like Kate Humble – with 20 acres, bottle-feeding a lamb.

“Or a TV presenter who grows veg in his back garden This is actual farming: Life, death and form filling.”

He added: “We’re not making Countryfile. We’ll be showing it warts and all.

“For example, I have no view on badger culling in terms of whether it’s necessary, but if it’s happening we will not shy away from putting it in the programme.”

Jeremy’s cheeky swipe at Richard Hammond comes after he revealed his fellow Grand Tour presenters “drive him mad”.

The car enthusiast explained he “never, ever, ever” spends time with his co-hosts Richard and James May, 56, from his Amazon Prime show “socially”.

The trio started working together on BBC’s Top Gear and are known for their signature banter.

However, Jeremy told The Sun they don’t “spend all of their lives together”.

He said: “Everybody assumes we spend all of our lives together. We absolutely don’t.

“I on average I spend… I think it’s 300 days a year with them at work. So once I get my 60 days of not being… I mean, I’ve got friends.”

Jeremy continued: “I know that I drive James and Richard mad and they drive me mad, and you know we all drive one another mad from time to time, much like brothers do.”
