BTS have just claimed the title of the most-streamed K-Pop song on Spotify for Boy With Luv.
K-Pop has been spreading like wildfire across the world over the last couple of years but with the help of the BTS ARMY, the popular boy band have proved time and time again they are a big deal. Grabbing the title from Dua Lipa and BLACKPINK Kiss and Make Up’s 284 million plays, the catchy single featuring Halsey has so far received 285 million plays.
BTS had previously made history on Spotify’s daily Global Top 200 chart back in April when their song debuted at No. 4, making it the highest debut on the chart for a song by a Korean artist. It doesn’t stop there. Boy With Luv had become the fastest Korean boy group music video to hit over half a million views on YouTube last month.
It seems like their vacation had them come back even stronger. Although they only returned from their break, they’re already looking towards the future. The band recently said they are hoping to continue their K-pop reign for another decade, as long as their bodies agree to do the same.
RM, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, Jungkook and Jimin have cemented themselves as the biggest band in K-pop and the biggest boyband in the world, six years after their debut, and are not planning on slowing down.
Suga, 26, told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘As long as our bodies hold up, we’ll be doing the same thing in 10 years.’
While Jimin, 23, said: ‘We’re not really compelling each other to keep this going. It’s nothing like that. We just have so much fun together singing and dancing that we want it to continue.’
We’ll even be jamming along with our zimmer frames if they continue conquering for the next 30 years.
