“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18
Today’s Bible quote of the day reminds me that anything we come across, an obstacle, an illness, a loss there is hope.
The hope is for eternity with the Lord God through Jesus death and resurrection.
Now I still feel that’s important to take care of yourself while you’re still on earth. The Bible mentions a lot of the poor and the meek, but at least for the poor part, I would like to avoid.
Growing old and not having enough to comfortably live is a bit scary for me. It’s not the end all of course, but for me at least it is an essential part of being connected to the Lord. I mean, not having resources is not a great way to help others. I feel that it’s a balancing act like most things mentioned in the holy book.
It’s hard to do much good if you are stressed continuously over paying your bills every month or feeding yourself. Let alone if you have a family.
So yes, eternity with the Lord via Jesus is such a blessing and ultimately solves any problems, but enjoying the journey while getting there is important too. I’m not saying making money your god, but maybe making it your servant would be ideal.
