At first glance, I thought this was a bit of a joke. A rural school in Pennsylvania is arming classrooms with a 5-gallon bucket of river stones to defend themselves against a shooter.
Imagine trying to hit an armed killer by throwing rocks. After thinking about the scenario for a bit, it actually made a little sense. You’re holding up in a classroom, and the intruder enters. You could just sit there waiting to be slaughtered, or you could throw rocks at the gunman’s skull.
I actually think they should add a few slingshots to each classroom to fire off those rocks. That way there’s an opportunity to take the killer out with one headshot.
