So 50 Cent forgot something he possessed that is now worth a lot of money. It started in 2014 when the singer released the album Animal Ambition. I have an inkling he won’t forget about this trove of coins ever again.
When Animal Ambition was released 50 Cent became the first artist to accept Bitcoin as payment. He received about 700 of these cryptocurrencies. Those 700 Bitcoins are worth over $11,000 each currently, making the lot worth between $7-8 Million.
According to the chart below, in 2014, Bitcoin was worth about $13 each and had recently gone to over $19,000.
So what does 50 Cent think about his windfall?
“Not bad for a kid from South Side, I’m so proud of me,” 50 Cent – whose real name is Curtis Jackson – wrote on Instagram, confirming the news in a post that featured a screenshot of the TMZ article.
