The accused serial killer is charged with murdering at least two gay men in Toronto.
Yep, you heard it right. Santa is now an accused serial killer. Just imagine all those kids sitting on his lap at Christmas time. Well, I guess at least he’s giving back to the community instead of just taking – lives. All those kids who met accused killer Santa will likely someday have a good story to tell when they get older.
On Thursday, police charged 66-year-old Bruce McArthur with first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Selim Esen and Andrew Kinsman, who have been missing since last summer.
Here’s another kicker, the alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur said he was a “romantic at heart.” That’s so sweet, and he claimed that on his dating profile. I love the bit about being “shy” too. Isn’t that nice? He’s one of the shyest alleged serial killers around.
Imagine the shock and surprise of the gay community when it was discovered there was a serial killer in their midst. In actuality, many gays were saying there was one, it was the police that denied it.
Toronto’s gay village saw things differently. Facebook groups were set up to share information about the missing men and to keep tabs on future disappearances. A town hall was organized in the village itself to share stories and to try and get information from the public and to put pressure on the cops to take the cases more seriously.
“We are trying to identify whether they may have become victim to Mr. McArthur as well,” homicide detective Hank Idsinga said.
Others who may have fallen victim to Mr. McArthur are: Skandaraj “Skanda” Navaratnam, 40, and Abdulbasir “Basir” Faizi, 44, both went missing from the Church and Wellesley area in 2010. Majeed “Hamid” Kayhan, 58, vanished from the area in October 2012.
While no bodies have yet been recovered, and police have remained tight-lipped about exactly what evidence they’ve unearthed, Idsinga told reporters simply that they found “some evidence” that “pushed us over the edge” to obtain a warrant for the arrest of McArthur. He had been a subject of the investigation for “months,” the detective added.
