A $33 Million Education Fund From Amazon CEO
As the old saying goes, to get ahead you have to study hard in school. That’s exactly what Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is hoping to do with DACA students.
At the end of a week where we’ve seen the President bashing other countries and the people who come from those countries, The Dream.US program is thanking the CEO of one of the most successful businesses in the US today for a considerable contribution to the continued education of DACA students.
Jeff Bezos and his wife, Mackenzie happily announced a donation of 33 million dollars for a scholarship fund for the DACA students.
Jeff has good reason to help immigrants. His adopted father came to the US under the “Operation Pedro Plan,” when he was just 16 years old, alone and didn’t speak a word of English.
Yet, with a lot of grit, determination, and help from an organization in Delaware, his dad became an outstanding citizen and always tried to help others.
The new scholarship funds with help at least 1,000 DACA student be able to continue through high school and beyond.
These young people who are trying to make a good life for themselves in the US should not be sent back to countries they know nothing about. If they are staying in school, off the streets, studying to become better citizens, why should we send them away?
And again I will say, if you are not 100% American Indian who can trace your ancestors of North America back thousands of years, you are an immigrant to America.
