Hollywood Actresses Support E! News Co-host For Quitting Over Male/Female Pay Gap
As E! News co-host for 12 years, Catt Sadler recently learned the truth regarding her salary and her male co-host salary. His was almost double what her’s is. So why would her attempts to have her pay raised at least close to his be turned down numerous times?
We are almost in the year 2018. Yet “co-hosts” of different gender are still being paid uneven salaries? Co-host means you’re both equally hosting the show.
Catt has over two decades of broadcasting experience. She has been the co-host of E! News for 12 years. She’s a single mom raising two young sons. But she was not entitled to the same salary as her male co-host? After also singly hosting another new show on the channel as well?
Women have made strides in every industry and career in receiving equal or fairer salaries. But it’s clear, there is still a long way to go.
2017 has been a year full of women coming forward to speak the truth of injustice against them. Catt says she wants to be an agent for change for women. She wants to make her sons proud that she stood up for herself.
Several Hollywood actresses recognized the importance of Catt’s quitting her job at E! News.
Catt’s message to women, “Know your worth.” And stand up for it!
“I will find more work,” she wrote. “I will create content with meaning. I will continue to pursue my passions while making my children proud. The way I see it, I have an obligation to be an agent for change.”
