Longtime CBS broadcaster Charlie Rose is no longer employed at the network. Rose is the latest among powerful men being taken down by allegations of sexual misconduct.
CBS suspended Rose after The Washington Post published a story on Monday about alleged harassment reported by eight women.
Rose in his defense felt like he respected and honored women. He didn’t believe what he did was disrespectful to them. He also claimed that he ‘now’ has a ‘new’ profound respect for women. We think that’s because he got caught with his pants down around his ankles.
Rose wrote in a statement, “I have prided myself on being an advocate for the careers of the women with whom I have worked.”
On Tuesday morning’s show, co-hosts Norah O’Donnell and Gayle King shared their thoughts on the scandal.
“Charlie does not get a pass here. He doesn’t get a pass from anyone in this room,” King said. “We are all deeply affected. We are all rocked by this.”
“This will be investigated. This has to end. This behavior is wrong. Period,” O’Donnell said.
The two were applauded for addressing the sexual harassment complaints.
And how is social media taking the news of Rose sexual assault allegations? They weren’t thrilled with his ‘excuses.’
