Hold On To Your Batwings Batman, But Someone New Maybe Wearing Your Utility Belt

Is Ben Affleck being replaced as Batman?  Affleck has been all over the news lately, and not in a good way.   He hasn’t gotten the most fabulous reviews for his acting as Batman, and then there are all those pesky articles about sexual harassment and being close friends with a sexual predator.

First, he was best buds with Harvey Weinstein knowing exactly how the producer behaved around women for years.   One of the actresses actually accused Weinstein of rape.

The best part is Affleck comes out against his friend the big Hollywood producer after the public turned against Weinstein.   Ben pretended to be shocked and appalled at the Weinstein allegations.  Then it was later revealed that Affleck himself had groped Hilarie Burton.

That’s called being a hypocrite.

Superheros can be many things that aren’t boy scout material, but being a hypocrite isn’t one of those qualities.  It actually comes out as making Affleck look sleazy and corrupt.

That’s a lot to overcome personally, to then try and convince the public you are a superhero.  Hence the possible replacement of Affleck in the upcoming Batman standalone movie.

Rumors are that the new director for that standalone movie wants Jake Gyllenhaal to replace Affleck as Batman.

But Affleck isn’t going to just disappear into his Batcave without a fight.

Justice League producer Charles Roven claims that the actor still hopes to star in Reeves’ Batman solo movie.

Roven said: “I’m not producing that movie, Matt Reeves is working on that, but I do work with Ben, so I know that he’s certainly planning on starring in that film.

“But I don’t know what the script is. I’m not producing that movie, so I’m probably the wrong guy to ask.”

A lot probably rides on how well Affleck performs in the Justice League movie.
