Corey Feldman ‘finally’ filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department about his sexual abuse as a child in Hollywood. He claims there is a pedophile ring grooming young actors for sex.
“Ask anybody from our group of kids at that time,” Feldman told The Hollywood Reporter last year. “They were passing us back and forth to each other.”
The actor tweeted Monday that he has taken the next step to “expose the truth.” “I JUST COMPLETED A FORMAL SIT DOWN INTERVIEW W @LAPDHQ SPECIAL DIVISION, & GAVE THEM ALL THE INFO I KNOW!”
“OFFICIALLY THE 1ST FORMAL REPORT EVER TAKEN ON ANY OF MY CASES, AS SBPD NEVER FOLLOWED UP BACK IN 1993, & HAS NO RECORD OF MY COMPLAINTS,” he continued. “THE LAPD WILL BEGIN AN OFFICIAL INVESTIGATION NOW! THINGS R HEATING UP, IM PRAYING 4 SAFETY! PLEASE HELP.”
Fellow child costar Sean Astin came out in support of Corey’s claims. Sean is best known for his role as Samwise Gamgee in the ‘Lord Of The Rings.’ You can also see him on Stranger Things 2.
But back in 1985 when they were both 13-year-olds both were in the movie ‘The Goonies.’ That was when Sean says he noticed something was going on with Corey.
Sean said he was never molested, and he didn’t realize Corey was being abused. But, Sean added, “it was obvious that [Corey] was having a rough time.”
Sean described Corey as “a strong, confident, cocky kid,” but that he was going down “what lazy and insufficiently compassionate people call, ‘the wrong path.’” Sean also alluded to Corey’s drug addiction, writing that it made him sad.
Corey has long eluded that the drugs were related to the sexual abuse at the hands of the Hollywood pedophile ring.
In his statement, Sean hinted somewhat ambiguously that Corey later shared his stories of abuse, including naming his abusers. “I remember aching for him, but not being surprised,” Sean wrote. “When the names of certain people come up, I get a gut feeling, I bet that guys [sic]a pervert or that dude’s bad news.”
But now that the formal police complaint is being investigated is it a waste of time? It’s been over 25 years. And did Corey do something that may have ruined his chances of proving his point?
Corey is currently trying to raise $10 million to showcase his claims.
And that may be the most significant problem. Corey’s credibility is now in question since a dollar amount has been requested by him.
A defense attorney could question Feldman’s motives over the fact that he wanted money to make a movie to reveal names of alleged abusers, attorney Manuel Medrano said.
The attorneys could assert that Feldman “is simply out to make a buck and hence the reason for his making these allegations at this late point in time,” Medrano said.
