The young actor, Finn Wolfhard, was the recipient of some unwanted sexual attention from an adult female. Just so happens the woman is a model. Can you sense the double standards society has on this subject?
So let me get this straight…….if a 27-year-old man said to a 14-year-old girl, “Hit me up in 4 years” it would be construed as sexual misconduct, a lewd comment, even child abuse. But because it’s a 27-year-old woman saying it to a young adolescent 14-year-old boy, it’s supposed to be “just a joke?”
But that’s precisely what happened when 27-year-old Ali Michael shared a picture of Finn Wolfhard and wrote, “Not to be weird but hit me up in 4 years @finnwolfhardofficial.”
Michaels, a Texas-based model, was bold enough to use social media to proposition the young actor. Then she dared to say it was just a joke when word got out, and the backlash began.
“Hi, Yesterday I posted a picture of Mike from Stranger Things and wrote ‘Call me in 4 years.’ It was completely and absolutely a joke but I understand that people have been offended by it. It was wrong to joke about and I apologise. I do not want Mike from Stranger Things to call me. I hope this clears things up.” wrote Ali Michael.
But isn’t that what we’ve heard for years? “I was just kidding. It was just a joke. She misunderstood what I said. I was just having fun.”
Some on social media didn’t buy the joke part and spoke out against the model.
So how many young girls and boys have walked down school halls, sidewalks and malls hearing remarks like this, but were told it was just a joke?
She’s a grown woman. He’s a child/adolescent. Isn’t there enough of this sexual misconduct being brought to the surface, finally, that this could not have been a more stupid comment?
According to the statistics, the modeling world is full of perverts. But it seems the reports have been one-sided.
If I were this young man’s mother, I would be appalled and never allow him around her, and I would be paying much closer attention to who exactly is paying attention to him!
I wonder if she would have thought it funny if it were reversed? If she were only 14 and a 27-year-old man had said the same to her?
IT’S NOT FUNNY!
