Fellow actor, Anthony Rapp, accuses Kevin Spacey of sexually attacking him when he was just a young teenager.
According to Rosie O’Donnell who has come out against Spacey, likening him to disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein and tweeting that “we all knew” about the “House of Cards” star’s alleged behavior.
But what did Rosie mean by “we all knew” and comparing Spacey to Weinstein? This statement and comparison would seem that Spacey would likely have an unquenching attraction to young boys. Whatever the case, it was pretty clear that Rosie wasn’t speaking about him coming out or she wouldn’t have compared the two.
So if Rosie is right, there may be more accusations surrounding Spacey misbehaving around young boys coming out soon. Here’s a scene from Family Guy twelve years ago that gives a hint about Kevin Spacey.
Rapp, who was just 14-years-old and alone at Spacey’s party, said his initial impression when Spacey came in the room was that he was drunk.
“He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me.”
“He was trying to seduce me,” Rapp continued. “I don’t know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”
Rapp also said that he has never told anyone about the experience, but has grown increasingly resentful of Spacey’s success.
“My stomach churns,” Rapp said. “I still to this day can’t wrap my head around so many aspects of it. It’s just deeply confusing to me.”
Spacey then came out as gay and also claimed he had no memory of a decades-old incident in which he allegedly made a sexual advance on a 14-year-old actor in an apology statement.
“But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,” Spacey wrote.
That half-baked apology and coming out as gay infuriated celebrities.
Spacey is a two-time Oscar-winner who has earned critical praise and a Golden Globe for his role in Netflix’s political drama series House of Cards. He is now the latest major Hollywood star to have been accused of sexual misconduct in the wake of numerous recent allegations surrounding movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
Update: Several people have come out with stories of their own. As reported by the Daily Mail reports
Former news anchor Heather Unruh said Spacey attacked someone “close to her.” She refused to elaborate about the identity of the alleged victim but called for an investigation.
Several people now claim to know people who have been treated inappropriately by Spacey, including while he was artistic director of London’s Old Vic theatre.
Nadine West tweeted: ‘KS [Kevin Spacey] groped my young male friend when they were both working at the Old Vic. Was apparently always known as one to avoid. Sadly unsurprised’.
Jennie Rigg-ormortis replied and said: ‘Have heard similar from more than one source. Hope more people come forward, but understand if they feel they can’t’.
Spacey was the artistic director of the Old Vic Theater from 2003 to 2015.
