James Corden Gets Called A “Pig” For His Controversial Jokes About Harvey Weinstein

Late night comedian James Corden gets mixed reactions for three jokes he made about Harvey Weinstein while hosting amfAR in Los Angeles. The star-studded gala for AIDS research met those jokes with both groans and criticism.

The jokes came across as making lite of Weinstein’s victims, the women of the sexual assault allegations.

Corden has come out apologizing saying he intended to attack the abuser, Weinstein not the victims.  But you decide who the comedian was making fun of.  Here are two of those jokes.

During a charity gala, Corden joked:  “It has been weird this week though, watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water. Ask any of the women who watched him take a bath,” and “Harvey Weinstein wanted to come tonight. But sadly, he’ll settle for whatever potted plant is closest.”

Weinstein has come out denying any non-consensual sex.  The star Hollywood producer is facing charges of rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment.  He is known by his victims as asking for a massage in his private hotel suite with nothing on other than a bathrobe.

The comedian made another joke about massages too:  “It’s a beautiful night here in LA.” “So beautiful, Harvey Weinstein has already asked tonight up to his hotel to give him a massage.”

Here’s a clip of Corden hosting the amfAR gala telling those controversial jokes.

And the push back towards the host jokes were fast and furious.  Here’s famed television personality, Anthony Bourdain.

Rose McGowan started her response tweets at the comedian calling him a “piglet,” and Asia Argento, also a Weinstein accuser called Corden a “pig.”

As for the beleaguered “The Late Late Show” comedian, he did try to clear the air and explain where he was coming from.

James Corden got his first big break in Hollywood after being cast in a Weinstein Company movie.
