In a written statement Ben Affleck comes out saying that Weinstein’s accused actions are “completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to others.”
Affleck goes on to say “we need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters. We must support those who come forward, condemn this type of behavior when we see it and help ensure there are more women in positions of power.”
That’s when one of Weinstein accuser, Rose McGowan, called out Ben Affleck for being a liar. Saying he’s known for years the type of person Weinstein was.
In fact, Rose says all the Hollywood “A-list” golden boys new this dirty little secret but were too focused on protecting their own careers to ever say anything.
Rose also called out A-list movie star Matt Damon for keeping quiet about the scandal.
Then it was revealed that Ben Affleck had his own woman groping moment.
Hours after Ben Affleck said he was “saddened and angry” over allegations that Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein raped and sexually harassed women over decades, Affleck was accused of groping actress Hilarie Burton. Fox News
A fan and Hilarie Burton got into a Twitter conversation about the whole left breast grabbing incident on MTV’s TRL.
Burton says she was basically just a “kid” when the sexual assault happened.
Ben Affleck came forward and apologized for his actions.
Seems like shedding light on a secretive subject always gets sincere responses.
Here’s another video back from 2004 where Affleck gropes another female reporter.
In the clip from “Box Office,” Montreal’s entertainment news show, Affleck, who was still dating Jennifer Lopez, is seen nuzzling into interviewer Anne-Marie Losique, who was sitting on his lap.
Also, makeup artist Annamarie Tendler, wife of comedian John Mulaney, claims Ben Affleck groped her at Hollywood party.
Ben Affleck’s brother, Casey Affleck, has been charged with sexual assault by two women.
Casey made headlines earlier this year when the past civil sexual harassment lawsuits came to light. The alleged incidents occurred on the set of the 2009 film “I’m Still Here.” Both suits were settled.
Casey Affleck released in March 2017 a statement address the lawsuits.
“I believe that any kind of mistreatment of anyone for any reason is unacceptable and abhorrent, and everyone deserves to be treated with respect in the workplace and anywhere else,” Affleck said. “There’s really nothing I can do about it other than live my life the way I know I live it and to speak to what my own values are and how I try to live by them all the time.”
It sounds like both Casey and Ben Affleck feel strongly the need to stand up for women’s rights, at least in print anyway, after the facts are exposed by others of course.
