October 3rd marks an important date for fans of ‘Mean Girls.’ The reason it’s so important to fans is that it’s the day the school hottie Aaron Samuels (played by Jonathan Bennett) turns to Cady Heron (portrayed by Lindsay Lohan) in class and asks her what day it is.
Lohan’s character tells her friends about the conversation saying “On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was.” So now fans celebrate today as Mean Girls Day.
The teen comedy launched the careers of Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Rachel McAdams and Lacey Chabert and others.
This year Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Daniel Franzese, and Jonathan Bennett are marking the anniversary date by reuniting to raise money for the victims of Las Vegas. The shooting took the lives of 59 people and injured more than 500 on Sunday.
Bennett shared a video of all four stars urging fans to donate just $3 to their GoFundMe page. The team is hoping to raise $300,000 for the initiative called “Mean Girls for Las Vegas.”
“We want to turn the attention to those who need it,” Bennett said before asking fans to give $3 in honor of October 3rd.
In the video, Lacey Chabert says “We know fetch is never going to happen, but we can make this happen,”
The GoFundMe page says “100% of funds raised will be distributed to the Victims of Las Vegas through the National Compassion Fund.”
We are working directly with the National Compassion Fund, a program in the National Center for Victims of Crime. This organization collected and distributed funds to victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting, the Aurora shooting, and even 9/11.
