Gainesville Florida ‘Hot Cops’ Aren’t All Hot Any Longer

The Gainesville police department officers swore to protect and serve as hurricane Irma came to shore in Florida.  But these three cops also posed for a picture that was shared on the Gainesville Police Department Facebook page, and the ladies went crazy over their looks.

The photo has gotten 181,000 comments, and 517,000 likes and 276,000 shares, with one calling the officers “hunkapotumuses.”

“The hunkapotumus is a rare, elusive, and mythical creature,” one woman wrote on Facebook. “Here we are lucky to see 3 huddled together in the wake of Hurricane Irma. I’m a well-trained hunkapotumus handler. Send them my way and they will be well taken care of.”

As heavy winds and rain pummeled Florida, the officers documented how they were responding to Irma on social media. Pictured in the photo were John Nordman, Michael Hamill, and Dan Rengering before their shift started on Sunday.

And the women kept the compliments going with one even suggesting to create a calendar of the officers.

“Heeeelloooo”

“I feel faint … send help!”

“I feel safer just looking at this picture.”

“I can’t believe how many women are objectifying these poor, fine, young, strong, handsome, brave, sexy, delicious, virile, ovulation-inducing, mouth-watering, beefy….. I can’t remember where I was going with this,”

“Do a calender, add puppies and I’m pretty sure we can rebuild Texas and Florida.”

With one of the officers responding to the request:

“We’re just excited about the fact that we’re going to get to do a calendar that’s going to raise a lot of money,” Rengering said. “Hopefully, we’ll be able to help a lot of people that [were] impacted by Hurricane Irma. That’s really what we’re most excited about.”

The Gainesville Police Department even sent out a message on social media not to call 911 asking for “hot cops” to come to your house.

Of course, that was yesterday and today is another issue.  With social media, things can rapidly change within 24-hours.  Things turned incredibly sour for officer Hamill when it came to light that he had possibly posted some anti-Semitic statements on Facebook.

In April 2013 Hamil wrote a joke about Nazi concentration camps.

“Who knew that reading jewish jokes before I go to bed would not only make me feel better about myself but also help me to sleep better as well. Here is one for everybody, “What’s the difference between boy scouts and jews?” Anybody know? Well it is because “Boy scouts come back from their camps.”

In another screenshot in 2011, he wrote about the putting people in the ovens the way Hitler did.

“so I find it funny that people will talk about how our government needs to do something about our economy and in reality it’s YOU who needs to stop taking advantage of our system and get a life and do something with your life. Gotta love reality when it hits you in the face. Stupid people annoy me. Put them in an oven and deal with them the Hitler way. Haha.”

Hamill was sworn in at the GPD in 2016.  This issue is under investigation by the department and no comments from GPD until that has been completed.

“The Gainesville Police Department prides itself with our philosophy and mission of compassion, inclusion, and respect and will fully review the matter…”

There’s currently no word whether Hamill will appear in the calendar.
