The former ‘One Direction’ bandmates have never been friends, and it seems A-OK with Zayne Malik. Malik left the boy band in March 2015 and hasn’t been too shy about his feelings towards his former music buddies. Well, it turns out two of the guys were not as tight as we all thought.
Well in this picture Malik and Styles seem to be pretty close with his arm around Styles. But don’t let that picture fool you. The photo probably fooled every one of their fans that the two were as tight as could be.
We already all knew about the Malik and Louis Tomlinson twitter feud, but apparently, they worked things through, and there’s no bad blood between them.
But the issue between Malik and Styles seem to go back to the start of the group. Zayne tells US Magazine the two aren’t friends and that they never even actually talked to one another.
“To be honest, I never really spoke to Harry even when I was in the band,” Malik told US Weekly “So I didn’t really expect that much of a relationship with him when I left. And I haven’t [had one], to be honest.”
And One Direction fans were surprised by the revelation.
I guess the two had us all fooled.
Malik went on to discuss his thoughts about the two remaining ex-members of the band, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.
“It’s complicated,” he confessed. “We’re in touch. Everything is on a civil level. It’s not the way it used to be, obviously.”
Malik said he enjoys the free time he has now and going at his own pace versus the constant speed of One Direction.
“We were basically going at, like, 500 miles per hour. We did everything to an extreme in the band. [Now] it’s not as full on, it’s not as extreme, it’s not as in-your-face. It’s at my own pace. So this way, it feels 100 times more manageable. It’s just easier. It’s a lot less work.”
Don’t worry girls One Direction may one day get back together if Malik feels up to it at that time.
‘I don’t know. If I didn’t want to [be in the band] then I might not. It just depends on how I’m feeling at the time.’
Fans, I wouldn’t hold your breath too long since it could be another 10 to 15 years before the group even begins to talks about getting back together.
