There are legitimate reasons for being late to work and there are unsavory excuses. This is probably one of the best excuses around. A Brooklyn man on his way back to work got stuck in a large softball size sinkhole.
The man felt the asphalt beneath him break away as he made his way across a Brooklyn crosswalk near Myrtle Avenue and Walworth Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of the borough shortly before noon.
Witnesses say the man complained that his leg had gone numb.
The man only suffered minor injuries. He was taken to the hospital for leg and back pain. It was not certain how long the man was stuck in the sinkhole.
