When Charity Becomes like a Gold Rush

Here’s a conversation that happened between a caller desperately wanting the gas bill to be paid and a receptionist at a not-for-profit….

Caller:  “How come you don’t pay gas bill in summer time?”

Receptionist:  “Because we only pay electric bill in summer time.”

Caller:  “How come you don’t pay gas bill in summer time?”

Receptionist:  “Because our funding is only for electricity during the summer months.”

Caller:  “Why can’t I use that money for my gas bill?”

Receptionist: “Then how would we pay your electric bill?”

Caller:  Gets angry and hangs up.

What do you think about when those in need become those in greed?
